Guild Rules

Welcome to Inspiration, the Saurfang-Alliance Raiding community.

The primary goal of a raiding community is to help ensure the raiding never stops. If you are a guild or raid leader looking for raiders, or even just a raider looking for a temporary home, check out the Alliances page. If you’re looking to join the Inspiration guild, then read on.

Any member of the guild can send a ginvite – but since the /who tool is misbehaving, your best bet is to join the guild Discord using the link on the right of this page, and message an online player. When you first join the Discord, you’ll have PUG rank with limited access to the server. Once we know you’re a real person, and not some sneaky bot with evil plans, we’ll promote you to a rank more appropriate for you.

All members, including raiders and anybody just visiting, should make themselves familiar with the guild rules and policies as outlined below.

The Inspiration Guild is a Safe Zone when it comes to all IRL issues: a space that respects all aspects of the people behind the keyboards, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, socio-economic background, age, religion, body shape, size and ability.

Because of this, we try to keep language to all age and tolerance levels. This extends to: Guild and public in-game chat Discord Character naming.

The Inspiration Raiding community is a guild on Saurfang Alliance.

While our main focus is raiding, we welcome other forms of game play, such as mythic keystones, achievement hunting, pet battles, transmog runs, and more. We believe that players of World of Warcraft should be given the opportunity to experience multiple aspects of the game – and that a lack of experience or knowledge does not indicate a lack of aptitude. We house players from all walks of life, creeds, skill levels and personalities, and we expect you to treat fellow guild members and the World of Warcraft community with respect and kindness. Your actions reflect on the guild as much as they are reflected on you.

Know The Rules
Every member is expected to be familiar with the guild policies and abide by them. Claiming to be unaware of these policies will not be excused. If you are having problems with another member who is violating these policies and you don’t think you can resolve the issue on your own, let an officer know in game or message one of them through Discord.

If an officer investigates a situation involving an Inspiration raid member who is not following the guild credo and policies, repercussions are up to officer interpretation. In extreme cases, members may face expulsion from the guild (of all characters). Guild members may appeal any officer decision by messaging Malachiel.

Conduct
Inspiration Guild and Discord are Safe Zones, and we will not tolerate IRL discrimination or harassment of any kind to anyone, even if those individuals are not part of the guild.

Members should keep their language (in all public channels) acceptable to all ages and tolerances.

All members must abide by Blizzard’s EULA

Members must not beg for gold or items.

Please no Recount/Skada healing/damage parses, macros, or other items that may be considered spam in guild chat or other auxiliary channels. We have dedicated raid-bot channels for this purpose.

Members are expected to discuss requests, concerns, issues or disputes directly with the officers through Discord or in-game.

Inspiration is an all-ages Safe Zone, except the designated NSFW 18+ channel. Members are expected to keep their conversations in all public channels (in-game, in Discord or other auxiliary channels) suitable for all ages. We will not tolerate any discrimination based upon race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, veteran status, ancestry, national or ethnic origin.

Members should refrain from discussing politics, religion, illegal activities, sexual orientation, and other divisive topics in the guild chat, public Discord channels, and within guild event groups.

Characters with questionable names may be refused an invite to the guild by any officer, or removed after discovery. Any character name deemed offensive may be purged from the guild ranks. After the player renames their character (at their own expense) it may be re-invited.

The Discord server is for the use of all guild members for both written and voice chat. Guild chat rules apply to all public Discord channels.

Raid Teams
All of the guild policies apply in raid settings. Remember that you are still expected to treat every member in your raid group with respect and to conduct yourself in a civil manner. We ask raiders to consider the impact actions will have on others and act in good faith towards team members. We understand that raiding can put players under pressure. The occasional adult joke or accidental F-bomb will be overlooked, but if this becomes a habit, officers will take action.

These policies are modified from the Convert To Raid podcast on US Aerie-Peak. Hit like and subscribe!

Finally – look, we get it. This is a lot to read. We care about our guild and raid environment and we work very hard to make sure that you and everybody else in it is having a great time. Sometimes people just can’t get along, and sometimes, we can’t make it work out. That’s OK. The point is, this is our guild culture, and you – and everybody else – needs to fit into it. If you’re a trouble maker, jerk, racist, misogynist or any of those other negative stereotypes, you aren’t going to last long here.

It turns out if you get rid of all those folk, the environment sure does seem light and fun. Everybody else, is welcome. We look forward to playing with you.
